YOUR "UPGRADE" UPSETS MY OPORATING PROCEEDURE
With a Windows-XP oporating system, it is possible to place a computer in "standby" when it is no longer needed for a time. Using standby has an advantages over "shutting-down:" The computer can be restored to oporation in seconds rather than minutes, and still has a chance to cool its parts. Now, a message has appeared on my compouter saying that access to "standby"is blocked by an "service update" (v1.1.4322) from Microsoft.NET Framework. I want to put my computer in standby but haven't been able to remove the "block," I don't choose to let my computer cook all nigfht, and didn't ask for this problem

Hi , Do you have any security software installed on the computer? However, you may try to follow the steps below and check if it helps you fix the issue. You may put the computer in a clean boot state and check if any third party applications or startup items are causing this issue. Later in clean boot state install Windows Updates on the computer. Access the link below and follow the steps to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows XP.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 After putting the computer in a clean boot state try to install Windows update and check if you can use the standby mode. Access the link below and follow the steps to install Windows updates on your computer.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/learn/windowsxp.mspx Also, see the section on how return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual” and set it to Normal Startup.
